I ordered the 0* but no plans to use it as an underquilt.

I'll use some cords over the middle and see how that works. I also have some dutch clips I can mess around with.

Tim to the rescue! I don't know how much more I can say it, but I'm a sucker for cottage industry customer service.

I've had two of his Revelation X quilts since last year as I bought some when he did the first temporary run of them. I got a wide and a narrow version with 2.5" of loft and have been using one as an underquilt and one as a top. I have been very happy with them. They loft up heaps and I have been warm down to around 0* C. I have no doubts they would take me lower than that.

Are these quilts sew through or are they just lofting and overstuffed like crazy. The karo idea is cool but I wonder if it becomes a mess if you have to wash the thing and get lots of down displacement. I remember the proff made a karo from cuben and it looked like down could easily shift around in it if it's not stuffed.None the less I think I'm gonna sell my marmot sawtooth to fund one of these.

They are not sewn through, well I've made 2 sewn through 45-50* ones but all my standard models have mesh baffle walls. When we stuff the quilt all the down ends up in the head end. Just a minute or two moving the down around by hand evens it out. If you wash it you'll have no problem getting it even again once it's dry. Wash it by hand in a tub and rinse like crazy. Let it dry overnight in the tub then move it out side if not too wet in the morning. Once dry break up any clumps by hand and shake it a lot to fluff it. You can see then if you need to move any down around, it is really easy to do.
