    Warbonnet Blackbird SL 1.1...elusive...legendary.

What is the actual weight of a 2016 BB 1.1 SL Hammock (Loops only)? 12oz.? or 16oz.?

Just snagged one off Ebay....after months of watching Ebay and the For Sale forum.

    wbb.jpg

    Wayback machine tells me 16oz.
(assuming their Whoopies only weighed 2oz.) but the seller said it weighed 13.9 oz. with whoopies and bishop bag.

On Apr-15-18 at 07:19:12 PDT, seller added the following information:

    • 18.3 oz total weight
    • 1.8 oz - pair of carabiners
    • 2.6 oz - pair of black straps
    • 13.9oz for hammock, stuff sack, and whoopies only (w/o carabiners and black straps)

SL 1.6 is 16oz with just loops so i find it hard to believe the 1.1 SL was also 16oz.

Oh man, I have an elusive one...the 1.0 dbl.
I would have sold it to ya if you would have just asked...geeezzz.
Of course you may not have needed the dbl. layering.

funny you post this, because i went through all the previously sold warbonnets on this site to see how many were double layer 1.1 of the older models and couldn't find a single one (or my searching skills aren't that great). do people really like them that much, or is it that people don't buy them and therefore are rarely put up for sale?

When i searched the forum I was under the impression that most were buying/selling the DBL 1.1.

I assumed the folks who have the SL 1.1 BB are holding on to them because they like the weight and comfort.

i guess i'm mixing up the blackbirds. the XLC models i see sold here are rarely sold in double 1.1, while the Blackbird i see now are about evenly split between the double 1.1 and 1.7. strange how that works out.

I have seen several folks post WTB for the SL 1.1 (myself included)

I have contacted at least 2 forum members inquiring about their SL 1.1.

I emailed Warbonnet and they said it was 15oz.

Curious how the previous owner is getting to 13.9oz. with Whoopies + Stuff sack.

Maybe minus the shelf shock chord.

    We shall see.

You can go lighter with dyneema or endura and Kevlar instead of poly. Theres ounces to be shed for sure.

I have a 1.0 double listed right now that I think Im going to withdraw. Irreplaceable and I can rig my 11ft Wookie to work on it, which I didn't think I could do, hence the listing. Only weighs 19 ounces And double layer. Bees knees.

I love the feel of 1.1 to 1. 7. 1.1 feels like a pillow top mattress to me.

If you're a bigger heavier person which is what the xlc was originally designed for, you'd probably want the heavier fabric so more probably sell.

I use Dyneema straps & a Becket hitch on the SL 1.7 XLC. My notes for the BB SL 1.1 had it @ 12oz. Not sure where I got that number. The seller seems to confirm it if his scale is correct.
