room hammock for the kiddo

My 8yo daughter had been asking me to hang a hammock in her room, and when we finally got mom to agree, we ended up upgrading her desk with a Craigslist loft bed/desk find that wrecked the hammock hanging plan. Well, with a bit of simple and creative hammock hanging focus, I got one up for my kiddo... and she loves it!

That's cool! We had to convert all our loft beds into bunk beds in order to make room for more children, otherwise I'd be all over that--way to go!

I thought I'd post a few more pics of my kid's hammock setup in her room (because I'm really jealous of her setup!)

The Byer Easy Traveller (I traded here on HF for a hammock blank) is wrapped around the corners of the loft using unused Dyneema contact slings. When not in use, the hammock can be tucked into the side of the bed as doubles as "decoration". When she wants to hang, all she has to do is pull the cord, that normally serves as the drawcord for the hammock's attached storage bag, and viola!

I have just shown the photos to my wife and she stated that our youngest daughter would love that, we have a high sleeper bed being delivered on Friday which i will build before her grandparents bring her back from their house. The wife has now let me order a trekmates expedition hammock to copy this which will also hopefully be here on friday so i can set it for her hopefully she will be pleased. photos to follow.
