    New sub-forum interest... Motorcycling

I don't know if this has been asked, and seeing there is a way for posting a poll to collect interest, I thought I'd take a chance. Please delete if this is inappropriate.

I am new to hammocking (about a year now) and becoming renewed to motorcycle touring/camping. I would really like to see a sub-forum like the one for paddling, on motorcycling.

There really isn't much on AdvRider or other motorcycle forums on the use of hammocks, so having one here would be greatly appreciated. If you feel likewise please vote Yes. If not, vote No. If you think it inappropriate for this forum please vote Inappropriate and explain to me why. Be kind please.

    Thanks for considering this!

There aren't enough motorcycle/hammocking threads right now to justify a subforum for organizational purposes. That is the reasoning behind why/when subforums get created.

If you want a subforum for that, then post more discussion topics specific to traveling that way with a hammock.

it should be in the members only forum since paddling/kayaking/canoeing has to be there

being a rider I think its a great idea, just like our H.O.C. we are trying to show an aternative to main stream. A lot of riders dont know what to do or how to prepare, use video(youtube) this form and others to show how you and others do it. weight is an issue on a bike to, like the trail. I would love to watch vids and read about it, i think others would to.

How many paddling made it enough?

How many motorcycling will make it enough?

Is it separate topics or separate posts that count?

If you do an advanced search using canoe or kayak in topic, there's only 8 topics that come up, and 2 of them are not in Paddling. Is that enough?

If you do an advanced search using motorcycle in topic, there's 28 topics that come up. Is that enough?

I'd like to add the following two questions to the poll, and show who voted what:

"Yes I am a motorcycle camper"
"No I am not a motorcycle camper"

It won't allow editing the poll for me so should we delete this one and start over? I'm curious to see if the nay-sayers are motorcycle campers or not. I think it is relevant. Interesting at least.

How many separate topics does it take? How many total posts?

    Are you a motorcycle camper?

In a forum dedicated to hammock camping I do not see anything unique about motor cycle camping compared to backpacking/canoeing/car camping. That puts the question of what would be special about it that needs a separate group the rest of us would not be either interested in or capable of making useful comments on occasion. Answer that and you may have a point to talk from.
