    Question New toggle for straps

I found this little gadget at a local gas station. Its called a Polar Pipe. Its a straw made of aluminum. Here is a link to a pic of it. I cannot find any specs on it even with a google search. It seems rigid enough to use for toggles. At $1.84 its worth a try. My wife is going to pic up 4 more for me. I'm going to make a couple of toggles from it and try it out.

I'm not sure if this should be in this area or the DIY area. So please move it if it needs to be.

I recall reading someone used a bic pen as a toggle. Those will probably be strong enough to hold up to the compression on the MSH. Post pics when you get them and try them.

I cut down an old aluminum arrow shaft and it works fine. If it's anywhere near that strengt, it should be fine.

I use the same thing on all my straps. Out here they are called "the big chill". I just cut them into three pieces and de burr the ends. So far so good.
