    Question looking for day hikes NE Tennesse

    Hey everyone, I got me a vacation! and about yr and half ago went to the fine state of tennessee for a week in a cabin and loved it! (this was before backpacking and hammocking) So I am thinking this time I will go to the east side of the state, pigeon forge area and I know theres some great day and overnight trails there,, so please any and all suggestions..thanks a bunch!

    Great Smoky Mountains National Park

    If you want to do overnights you may need to make a reservation, but for day hikes you'll have plenty of choices.

    If you're going to be in Pigeon Forge you'll be hard pressed to find a better hiking ground than the Smoky Mountain. There is also Nantahala National Forest and Pisgah in Western North Carolina.

    NE Tennessee? I'd certainly recommend taking a look at Roan Mountain, Hump Mountain, and the whole AT in that area. Some BEAUTIFUL trail and nice B&Bs and great AT hostels.

    PM me about your ideas. Yes, there are more day hikes and overnighters than you can imagine. What are you looking for in terms of length, difficulty, features. I grew up in Gatlinburg and know the GSMNP pretty well.
