    Lightest and most compact

OK, not sure if this has been asked before.

What is the lightest and most compact (smallest packable size) hammock kit available on the market today? Intended use would be mostly fall and spring.

    A kit would include:

    • hammock and suspension
    • tarp
    • bugnet
    • underquilt

    Probably not the lightest, but..

    1. WB Blackbird with line suspension, ~6ft tree huggers, JRB WeatherShield 2 and DIY ring buckles plus BB style sack is ~ 30oz.
    2. Tarp is a MacCat Spinntex Deluxe. I think the total weight including skins, lines and 4 Vargo Ti stakes is 11 oz.
    3. Built into the hammock.
    4. JRB Nest including stuff sack and JRB suspension is ~22 oz.

Since request was for the lightest set up....

The JRB Hudson River provides the same coverage and protection as the JRB Nest , at less cost and one ounce less weight.

To answer the later question, it packs to 7x7x7.

Thanks. Actually, I asked for both in the original thread.

    Lightest and most compact
I'll have a look at the Hudson River, thanks.

    Skeeter Beeter UL - 20oz
No pack specs but look at this pic and can see the pouch on the side of hammock it packs into.

    http://www.thetravelhammock.com/products/skeeter_ul.htm

Equinox 10 x 8 UL tarp -13oz and size of a 24oz can when placed in mesh stuff sack.

Then I would go with the Jacks R Better (JRB) WS2 Underquilt.
Only 7oz and packs up smaller than a pop can.
This can add up to 10 degrees of warmth. But to increase the warmth, load the underquilt with your unused pack clothing.

Just pitch the tarp across the hammock ridgeline and use 4 corner tie outs to secure.

40oz total and compact...thats getting pretty good I think
