    wrapping cord

    anyone have a link to a good way to wrap up cord? I seem to do it a different way each time with limited results.

    this is what i like to do with my extra cord, figure eight around your fingers so it doesnt get tangled as easily then just hank it up to hold

    I use a short piece of 1/16" shock cord and a mini cord lock attached to each webbing loop. Make up line in a hank, insert, tighten. Done

    I've found the figure-8 to be overkill with my tarp guylines. A simple wrap around my hand followed by stages 10 to 21 of this animation. Since I've included guyline pockets with my tarp anyway, well...

    depending on how much cord you are wrapping up, you could always use the daisy chain method. granted it's generally used for 20+ feet, but i've used it for less than 10. here is a video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-CDCAqPw3Jo . once again, it depends on how much cord you are talking about. but it should work anyway. it works nicely though because then you just untie the end, and the cord just pulls out. no tangles or nothing.
