yes on the scale I think it was 4.3 ounces naked. At this weight you can carry a spare hammock and Poof plans to just in case. We googled pics of the firetower on Mt.Sterling--the official campsite is at the base--so hoping to get up the tower before sun up, hoping more to hang from the tower. This hammock reminds me of a Hefty bag in look and feel; but the lay was really comfortable-a hair more so than the double m50. Neutron estimated $80 in it but that's not counting the Dutch adornments. For the lightweight among us, say the ones weighing less than 140 pounds this is the cutting edge material.
Vortex warns though that a nick/small tear and this thing is going to go!
Black Wolf - Test Dummy number 2. I need a address if you want to try this hammock Please PM me. You PM box is full so I cannot PM you.
Two nights on Steriling with Poof. No failures yet. Off to Black Wolf for a more extended test. Hopefully he will give unbiases opinion about comfort.
So what ever happened with this M55 testing? Was a failure weight ever discovered?
Last I heard Poof was hanging on 2 trees on the side of a cliff ........
Was the inside of the hammock clammy at all? I was going to make a DL out of m50 but the DWR coating has me thinking it might be a bit humid in there...
