Just for fun i have tried to make a stuff sack with build in compression string.
This is a sewasyougo prototype.. Its 22 by 17 cm made by 1.1 sil nylon made for parachute fabric. The string is an 2 mm dyneema 12 braid string i have for my whoopie slings.
The idea was to have the string for closing the bag running around the bag multiple times so when it is tightend is will automaticly compress the bag. This is made by sewing a channel at an angel, that hits the next channel, when the bag is folded over and sewn together.
The bag is a standard stuffbag you can find all over the net.
Come to think about it i think it would be possible to sew the channels when the stuff bag is complete aswell. Ohh well i will try that next time.
On the pictures is my 1.1 oz 10 feet tightend end hammoch with 6 feet whoppie slings.
Please feel free to improve the design. As it is it has flaws.
The bottom part of the bag is very compressed.
I dont think it will scale well to bigger bags.
