    attaching figure 9s

what i'm looking to do is get some of the little metal figure 9s and attach them to my tarp lines. the thing is, i want them to hang down some, and be able to slide up and down the tarp line and yet hold tight when tension is applied(shug has this shown in the tarp section of his 10 part videos) kind of like how the whoopies work. so what is a good method of doing this? also, what is a good width of cord i should get, and how long do i need for each figure 9? my tarp lines are about 1/16th of an inch thick.

Just follow the instruction on the pack through the eye then over the key pull the slack cord round/through your anchor then wrap and lock dead easy!!!!

Am I missing something, or does this sound a lot like the description of a figure 9 on a prussik? That's how I have mine, couldn't be much easier...
