I am a smelly, snoring person and I take offense to

Shug not wanting to sleep next to me in a tent!

Seriously though, what reason is there, short of a total lack of anchors, to going to ground? The main reasons for staying with ham-mocking have already been enumerated so I will not repeat them.

Life is good in a hammock.

    Jim

PS: Ham-mocking is a suggestion from my spel-chekk.

Hammocking is a fad? I was hammocking before I found this site andthe reason I keep swinging is the reason I started. Comfort , light weight, and simplicity. I like to show others how I sleep, but to each their own. I can't realy understand why folks would want to go to ground, ( with the exception of spending "quality time" with the s/o) but I have questioned convention many times.

Because I just got started this year!

I've reduced my pack weight by three or four pounds, it's the most comfortable sleep I've ever gotten on a camping trip, I can set up anywhere, it packs down to half the size of my tent and I love it! I wished I had started hanging a long time ago!

Because I can't find anti-gravity suspensors in my size. Until then, it'll be hammocks!
