    Addiction

I should have believed you all when you said that making gear is addicting. Since my ix uq the other week, I have made a stuff sack for it, it double ended stuff sack for my hammock, a pair of triangle thingies today, and I can't stop thinking about the down top quilt I want to tackle.... Ugh

And the fun begins!! Once you get your kit together you'll start over again because tweaking and improving is where it's at.
Everyone ought to believe in something....I believe I'll go set up the hammock!

We should start a 12 step thread.

"Hi, I'm Dad, and I'm an addict!"

The kids are in school now (Yeah) so I have two new tarps, two TQ's to make and a 0* UQ along with some modifications, hammock stands and a better arrangement for my full time hanging (hard to reach the alarm).

"Step 1 - We admitted we were powerless over our addiction - that our hammock obsession had become unmanageable"
The person who says that it can't be done, doesn't
The person who says that it can be done, does it!

    Hi DAD!

Yes... some of you are addicts... I could stop any time I wanted to!

I um... just don't want to! Yeah!

I used to tell my self "once I get this _______ done (hammock, pack etc) then every thing will be ok and I'll have every thing I need. Now I pretty much sew a few min a day (at the least) and have a never ending list of future projects!
FYI: If you want to know what type a certain bear is, sneak up behind it and kick it. Then,
run like crazy and climb up a tree. If the bear climbs the tree and eats you, it's a black
bear. If the bear just pushes the tree over and eats you, it's a grizzly bear : )

Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me, either, just leave me alone.

Yeah, me too. I started on a gathered end hammock with zippered bugnet. Now I have two other bugnet hammocks with bottom entry, stuff sacks, storage bags for in the hammock, and a Backwoods Dreamer winter tarp. And more things planned...yeesh...

And then there's the helping of dear hammocky friends with their hammocky projects.
Doesn't get much better than tweaking and creating with like-minded folk!

I fell off the wagon only a month ago, making my first "beak tarp".
I've now added a hammock, bug net and an 8x10 flat tarp under my belt and starting a double walled tent after the weekend.

I think my girlfriend and roommates are going to have an intervention for me soon...I got hooked FAST and now have a stockpile of materials sufficient to keep me busy all winter long, sewing at 2 hours a night. I also tend to get verbal diarrhea when asked about my homemade stuff (which is usually interesting to those who haven't heard it before, haha)

...but hey, it's better than playing video games right? (I'm 26)
