Can Two People comfortable use one hammock?

I'm new to this forum & to hanging. I've heard it said that for a couple to get a good nights sleep one hammock it is best to have been in synconets or gymnastics.

I haven't been able to find any info about this on this forum & only one mention of it on another site. I suspect that its not very practical, otherwise there would be more talk about it.

If three are other links about this somewhere about this on the forum or others who have done this, I'd appreciate hearing you thoughts on it.

    Thanks,

    Rob

In my experience, for naps? Yes. For the whole night? Not really unless you don't move the entire night. People have done it but its not common.

Two people overnight in an ordinary hammock has been tried by the many, and have yet to hear any that was comfortable all night.
The only solutions that I know of are homemade by members here.
One is Dblhammock's 2-person bridge hammock...

Or use 2 hammocks, using 3 trees, and 1 tarp. You can each use your own hammocks, but using the same tree on one end still allows you to be close. You can use any tarp big enough, or Smokehouse made a tarp specifically for this use called the 'Honeymoon Suite'...

He'll make them on request, he made me one of his self-named "Smokehouse" tarps and it's real nice.

Thanks for the responses & Links. Looks like we'll start out two hammocks - our sewing skills aren't up to that level yet. I hope things keep moving forward on this front.

    Absolutely.

If you can not do a DIY hammock, Clark Junglehammocks has the Vertex which is a 2 person (seperate baffels) but it is extremely exspensive at $500+

two in one hammock almost never works - a few people have managed but its generally going to be miserable. Two hammocks under the same tarp, however, is absolutely awesome. The wife and I each carry our own tarps, just in case we find a situation where we can't find the right tree setup to share, but we vastly prefer to share, and usually manage to find a way to do so.

Smokehouse makes his tarps for others here on request (i think still) (I can't sew like that either). Also, any 2 hammocks will fit fine under any decent sized tarp. If you look around on here I've seen plenty of pictures off others hanging close to each other here.
