    2 Sleeping bags zipped together

Im new to the hang game ... but i am hooked! i was trying to figure out how to use my sleeping bag for a quilt. So i used 2 summer bags and zipped one side the back side. So now i can step into my bags pull up the rear on my head and get into my hammock. Now in the hammock i have full rang of movement with full bag coverage... i have a video and will post soon

you will compress the bag under you and loose any insulative effect of the bag. This is why underquilts hang loosely under the hammock.

I wonder how warm your sleeping bag is going to be if you use the whole thing as an over quilt.

wait! could you use this doubled sleeping bag put ur hammock through it laying on one useless part but the other half hanging below you? using a top quilt above you, surely someone has tried this. must find out!

It is possible with slight mods. The thing you speak of is referred to as a peapod.

no not quite a peapod, although yes that would work too, but actually having one layer between you and the hammock and the other layer below the hammock. still would take some slight mods but i think it would work.

Two issues that I know of:

1: Weight - Depending on the bags, your looking at an average of 3-4lbs per bag. so 6lbs

2: Comfort - You've basically just turned your one man sleeping bag into a full size sleeping bag. There will be a lot of sleeping bag hanging over the sides of your hammock.

IMHO - The PeaPod idea might work best for keeping you comfortable. I've done this with two fleece bags and running the hammock through them work best for me.
