I'll tell ya what. There's a very short but very nice trail going to Lake Spaulding from Bowman Lake Road. It's is very doable in the winter.

If getting your gear takes you into the winter I'd love to do a snow trip up there. Even if it's just an over nighter.

Let's keep in touch. I'm totally up for a group hang.

That's the one I'm talking about. It goes on past the lake to some great little falls. But, to do a simple overnighter, you can just hike to one of the sights along the lake about a mile or so in.

Count me in...just got my HG under quilt and now waiting for hammock and tarp to come in. Then the fun begins trying to figure out how to tie knots.

Thanks, Kapang! I subcribed and it is a great feature to get the latest posts sent to me. I am so new to this that I am still trying to get the gear I need. My Warbonnet Blackbird, 1.1 Dbl is on order and I'm going crazy waiting for it. I think I will try pads at first for lower insulation and a reg sleeping bag on top. I am really glad to find other people near me who hang. thanks for including me in the posts.
