    Underquilt makers

Can any of you name all the makers of underquilts?

I am interested in buying one, but I like to do "research" on them before plunking down the bucks...

I own a JRB Nest. Good people and a good quilt.

Ed Speer makes quilts as well. BTW, both make with down for insulation.

Blackbishop is making the synthetic potomac underquilt.
    Peace,
    Joe

I'm not sure that BlackBishop is still making them, actually. I ordered one from him about 6 weeks ago, but it still hasn't shipped.

Edited to add: I know he's been busy, though, with job interviews so that may explain some of the delay.

Hope you are all still reading this... let me clarify (my hammocking experience is still dim)

I am looking for a UQ for a Hennessey (Desert Rat).

Does that make a difference or will any quilt fit?

Any of the quilts should fit. With the Speer, you have to specify whether it is to be used with a Speer hammock or not, since they make a different attachment option for 'universal use'..but that's not a big deal.

I figured I'd also say most JRB's and the Potomac are both specifically designed for the Hennessy Hammocks although they can be used for other systems. I also hear that the Snugfit is a very well made product although I have yet to see one in person.

Warbonnet is prototyping an underquilt and a half-underquilt but I don't think any have shipped yet. The tie-outs are in different spots than the HH, though.

Until Warbonnet gets a website so we can actually get a good look at all his products, I consider them vaporware. JMO.

From what I understand he is still in discussions with TH about patent stuff . He's just trying to be sure to do this thing right from the start. Hard to blame him.

I just sent him a PM about the UQ JJ mentioned. Hopefully he will give me some more info about when he plans on selling them. If soon enough, I'll probably get one and post some pics.
