Several days ago I made a gross error in judgement and jumped in on someone else's "want to buy" thread. One of our members was looking for a couple of sets of the old Warbonnet cinch buckles. When another member chimed in with 3 pairs to sell, my initial intent was buy 1 pair and leave the other "couple of sets" for the OP. At this point I decided to do an "I'll take it" for all 3 in order to insure that the other two sets didn't get snatched up before OP saw the offer. The idea was to put them on hold and then let the OP claim 2 of the sets later.
I posted my intentions in the thread and PM'd the OP.
I made several mistakes here.
1. Instead of posting my own WTB thread, I jumped in and made a claim in someone else's.
2. I set an arbitrary deadline by which another member must contact me to claim the items in their own thread.
3. Instead of contacting a moderator to ask, I posted saying 'they should let me know' if I should have handled it differently.
Looking back, I now see that I really bungled the whole thing.
I apologize to everyone for my bad judgement and would like to try to remedy it.
I will PM the OP and offer to send him the 2 sets for free.
