Lots to appreciate in their sociocultural patterns; among other things: free education... hmmm...

Bought a DD Travel Hammock this spring just to be able to use it as a bivi when I'm above the tree-line. I´m very satisfied with it so far.

I saw in the beginning of this thread that there was someone who wanted to hang in the middle of the winter when it is cold and dark.
I can provide with such conditions but not until next winter (dec 2010 - march 2011). Right now there isn't much darkness at all, just a little bit less light at night then in the daytime.....

If someone is interested in hanging out in the wintertime just let me know!

...and of course in summertime as well....

I am Scandinavian-American or Scandi-American as some say. Grandma was Norwegia nand grandpa was Swedish. As young teenagers, both my sister and I spent time in both countries with relatives. The year before we even took a small summer vacation with grandma to learn to the language. I'd love to live there teaching for a year, but finding work always worries me.

Yes, I summer hangout wouldn't be wrong either.

I only had one really cold night this winter in hammock and that was also in my backyard. Minus 20C and the sky full of stars. Like it!

In the winter I have a special setup with the hammock inside my sleeping bag. I bought a really cheap -20 C down sleeping bag so I made a buttonhole in the bottom and at the head in the sleepingbag so I can get out the rope from the hammock.

Hmm, I think I need to show some pictures if anyone will understand.....

    I get the picture !
Because it has been done before and i have seen the pictures.
The hammock is hanging inside the sleeping bag, right.

Did you have any condensation problems in the morning (ice) ?

At the moment i am into "less is more" when sleeping cold.
By that i mean i try to stay as open/airy as possible ,
    especially regarding my breath.
So, that i don't trap any moister where i don't want it.
