    Hello from a cycling tourer

My name is Steve and i like riding my bike, and before i got into cycling i was sparingly into hiking, but ive always slept on the ground under a tarp tent or tent but I was on a tour a couple of months ago from my home in Athens, GA to Washington, DC and i met a guy in NC at a campground with a Hennessy Hammock, i liked it so much that i worked my way to a REI and bought an ENO setup. I only used it for about a week on the trip, but coming up soon i am taking a trip to Denver so i will have plenty of time to relax on it. I expect it to be getting cooler soon so im gonna be making a Pancho liner UQ, and whatever else i come across in the forums here that i might need.
    Thanks everybody, Steve

Welcome from Minnesota, and mind the areas without trees for hanging from, be prepped to go to ground as necessary.

Check into UQ/TQ options, and hammock socks or UQProtectors to cut wind, these are light weight small volume devices that can extend your insulation's range by buffering you from the wind.

You've found the best forum ever, here. Keep us up to date on your trip!

Welcome from another GA hanger. There is plenty of info around, just take your time and explore.

If you are planning on being a steady visitor to the forum, donate the few $ it takes to become a donating member. You will have access to several other sub-categories that will really be useful.

Welcome to the forum from a tourer in Indiana.
I got in a fight one time with a really big guy, and he said, "I'm going to mop the floor with your face." I said, "You'll be sorry." He said, "Oh, yeah? Why?" I said, "Well, you won't be able to get into the corners very well."
