Good to see what a Tarp must holding against a Wind.

    Regards Dirk
I tried to keep it as flat a pitch as possible, the winds were fairly light.

I attached my tie outs to plastic grocery sacks filled about softball size with sand and burried at least 12 inches deep. This worked so well.

The Witch making a week long engagement on the GOBA bike tour with me last week where I appear to have been the only full time hanger of about 3000 participants. I saw two others, one hung when he had trees the other hung under the truck frame of the tractor trailer that hauled the luggage.

Shade and ventilation were the name of the game on this tour, I should have brought a nylon tarp instead of the cuben but I was far more comfy than most.

This year's improvement is a telescoping aluminum top rail. Next will be all aluminum legs that will nest inside one another for storage. And the wooden tripod heads will be made of nylon. I'm hoping to drop 3lbs and get into the 11 to 12lb range. My longest tubes are 55" long. Sad to see all the pretty wood going away from my prototype but it's for the best.

So I guess if you make it out of aluminum you'll have to give it a new name? any ideas yet?

Does this mean the witch will be for sale soon cause I'll take it.

    Thanks Lesspayne,

Yes, there is an inspiration for a new name but will wait.

My thought has always been to develop an easily build-able design to share with the forum rather than to produce. Now that the pack down size is reducing so nicely, I think it may be more worth considering for more hangers.

I think the thing that I wanted to know is if it was worth toting around on a supported bike tour and I would have to say it was.
