The Witch and the MacCat at the OBX

A few shots of the witch stand on the sand and it did well with only a small piece of pasteboard under each leg. It was especially nice up on the top floor deck of our beach house for watching sunrises most every morning. I went up to the house and a couple of my buddies moved in on the shade of my MacCat, I probably coulda gone bigger but I don't think cuben would have been well suited for the beach.

Considering a redesign of the top rail clamp to better accomodate uneven ground.

    Back to reality.

An after shot to show the Witch stand all packed up in a lawn chair bag.

And an obligatory Outer Banks parting shot, gotta say I really didn't see anything there that I was all that interested in.

Very nice setup! I especially like the third picture with you kicking back in hammock. You looked very relaxed.

Can you give us more detail on your stand, like what did you used to make it?

    Thanks Sidewinder,

If I'd known how popular the tarps would be I'd have had a couple on the beach every day.

I've made some changes since my design but here is how it started with a bunch of broomstick handles.

    http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...=windsor+witch

My thought has been to clean up the design so that anyone with basic tools could make it. I'm working towards a (no tools) knock down design.

I'll hold off on providing specific details until I've tested a couple more revisions I have in mind, should be in the next week or two.

^ That is awesome! Really nice design. You fabricated the top piece? You got skillz. I really like the use of hardwood. My stand use pine and I never feel quite secure in it. Let us know when you have finished with your design changes. People are going to want you to sell these...
