Who was at Cedar Hollow camp on 10/18/08?

I hiked the Goodwater Loop (Lake Georgetown) this weekend as saw another hiker @ Cedar Hollow who had what looked like a DIY hammock and tarp, part of a group of four hikers. I didn't have time to talk (had to make time ya know), plus I'm not very personable in the morning. Just wondering if you are a member here.

For those of you in the Austin area the Goodwater Loop around Lake Georgetown is complete, 28 miles total, and is a great hike right now!

It wasn't me, but I love the southern part of the trail. I did the whole thing before the did the rest of it. I usually stealth camp out near mile 8 so you wouldn't have seen me I need to get back out there. Was the lake low?

Yep, real low, like 17 feet, and silty from the recent rains; I hate chewing my water!

Here's a pic of the area around mile 8. This is basically from my campsite early one morning. I have another spot I scouted out that is past the small pond in the same area. Next time I'll probably hang back there.

Nice writeup. I see you also put one on texashiking. I have a couple of entries toward the bottom. It's been a while since I've been out there. I really need to go soon and check out the new part.... I have a guy that I work with that I turned onto hammocking. He's camped out there a couple of times. I believe he found a nice spot somewhere in the new section on near jim hogg (stealth). I'll ask him tomorrow.

Yea, I think Texas Hiking and Austin Explorer are sister sites, you post on one, you post on both.

Maybe we can get an Austin Group mini-hang going!
