Thanks, Cannibal and Mustardman, for the excellent input. I had been keeping an eye on the planning section to see if there were any group hangs any time soon but didn't see any. But now you're putting one together!? HOLY CRAP YES! LOL! Guess I'll take my input on that to the planning thread. Thanks, guys!

The hang in Colorado sounds like an excellent plan. Kyle, afterwards please let us know here your thoughts after hanging for a bit in both the BB and the RR.

Mrs Law Dawg (ret) should have her RR this afternoon. I'm planning to gauge if her AHE 0 degree New River UQ could be modified (with a zipper) to make it a sock. Might be a perfect thing with a bridge hammock because of no need for an asym lay. What say you Cannibal?

    Wrong guy.
Generally speaking, I don't use socks on my hammocks. I could make a guess, but that's all it would be.
    Trust nobody!

that would have to be one big underquilt to mod it into a sock i think

Probably so Brandon...we'll see if it will work when the RR arrives. Misplaced our tracking number BTW so arrival should be a surprise. That does bring up a possibility. The bridge is the only hammock this hanger could conceive of working properly with a sock simply because of the inline lay. Has it been tried by others?

Just for the sake of clarity, when people use the term "sock", they are usually referring to thin, generally breathable, non-insulated fabric, like the Spindrift sold by Warbonnet. What you're talking about, with thicker sleeping bag style insulation, is more like a "peapod" - although that's Speer's brand name for them, I've never seen the community come up with any other name for the DIY versions.

    My duh...blushing here.

Back on track with an apology for the divert. I'd personally have both if the hog body worked in the RR...resistance is futile!

I don't think you'd go wrong with either, but I love my BB
