Question Hoosier National Forest Hang, Question

I would like to put together a list of hikers that could be ready on the next cool weekend, whatever that is, to meet in Brown Hollow.
I am looking forward to getting out in the forest now that the super hot weather seems to be breaking.

Question: Does anyone know how bad the ticks and chiggers are this summer in the HNF?

I'm interested. As for the ticks, I found that it really did depend on where I was. I never made it to Brown Hollow, but Nebo Ridge had a lot when I was there in late June. Conversely, I didn't have as much of an issue with ticks in the Deam.

I've been to other parts in the area (MMSF, Yellowwood, Brown County SP) and I didn't have much of a problem with ticks there, either.

Thanks for the information. The last time Jerry and I was there jerry got dozens of them on his clothes, non attached, I go zero after treating my clothes with Permathrin. Let's all keep in touch and be ready to go some cool weekend. There should be water everywhere right now too. I wouldn't mind going to Panther Creek on the Tecumseh trail off Crooked Creek road, if anyone is interested.

Great, Shotgun Red. I think we are all the same, last minute discussions. It will be so good to see you.

I have several things going on in the next couple of months, but might be able to join if everything works out.

This weekend would be too short notice for an overnight, but if you go next weekend count me in.

I will be in the area this weekend for a day trip, taking my three year old for her first wilderness trip. Should be interesting.

I'm still debating on a nice short hike to a good spot to sit and hang out, if anyone has any ideas.

I am probably going down tonight, myself. Either one night or two.

This weekend is looking like it will be in the low 60's and mid 40's at night, I'm planning ongoing this weeked, if anyone wants to meet up.
