October 5,6,7 is quite good for me too.

Since we have a couple votes for that weekend, and not many other thoughts, should we assume we're shooting for oct 5,6,7, and start thinking about location again?

the farther north and closer to the boulder/denver area would be preferable for us, just because it would be less driving.......stayed in the independence pass area last year and couldn't believe how long it took us to get down there from up here in the black hills

Well, my wife and I are looking to take our first trip to Colorado but it won't be in those date ranges rather, it's looking like Thanksgiving weekend. Bummer that we'll miss the group hang.

I'm at 8200' just west of Blackhawk on I-70 and the Aspens are already yellow...

5-6 Oct might work for me bc Joker's soccer game is early Sat., but the AF-Navy game is then, too. I'll have to spend some marital capital to go...but it's probably worth it.

Looks like the Aspens go through 10k and are bare before 11k...at least along the interstate.

ETA - Now we're at 9300' west of Breck and there are still quite a few Aspens still green...
