    Looking for trip ideas

If you look at a map and draw a 200 mile circle around san Antonio... I want to be in the ring... I don't want garner or lost maples... I want an over night hike in type place... Primitive is the word usually used... And I want to go next Monday or Tuesday night... Any ideas... Hikes recommended...

When I was stationed in San Angelo, we'd party, er, camp by the Concho River. I don't know if it is still accessable. Lots of armadillo and rattlers. That was in '75.

Nothing specific, but a few miles north of you is some pretty country. I spent most of my weekends as a child and young adult up around Canyon Lake. My first hiking experiences were in that general area. Problem these days is probably all the private land and I'm too long removed to know much about any parks in the area.

Still, I miss the Hill Country of Texas and would love to hike there again someday.

Hiked garner this weekend... I take motorcycle trips through hill country VERY often... And am in love with that area... But seeing as I go there so much, I was wondering if someone else had a place they love going... Either way I'm going out, probably lost maples at a primitive site... Unless someone gives me one that sounds better...
