Hey Fellow Hangers,
I've been trolling the site for a while. I have had hammocks for more years than I can recall, but none would qualify for use camping. Until this summer.
I jumped on the bandwagon and purchased a Hennessy Expedition for a backpacking trek here in Colorado. Even with some DIY underquilts it was still cold; we saw frost one morning hiking out. I needed more layers and better technique with the rain fly to limit air flow.
But I was hooked. Since then I've picked up a Clark Vertex hammock for my wife and I to go hangin' together. We've tried it out for one night and are planning our first trek.
Should be an adventure!
But I have appreciated all of the insight I've gained already from the site. sag amounts, knots, rain fly tips, and insulation. I think I've read more posts on insulation than anything. Right now we've got sleeping bag's turned into underquilts. I'm thinking the ... what's it called the ... "Gear Making Machine" ... may have to come out over the winter.
