150mls, or about 2.5 hours. Keep in mind, at Parson's it looks like everyone gets their own camp site (perhaps doubling up). No group camp site.
This is your event, I'm just trying to help. Let me know what you want and I'll do what I can.
I don't think Parson's Mt is any further than Woods Ferry for you, Ahhgladius. I'll Google it.
Parson's Mountain is very under used. I doubt there will be anyone else there. There is no camp host right now, either, as the last one died a few months ago. I think we could easily fit on a couple of sites...don't think anyone will care if we spread out a little. I can go out there and take pics in the morning and post them if y'all want. It's only 18 miles from me.
I'm down with Parson's Mtn...actually I'm down with where ever you all will be the weekend of Oct 5-7! Pictures are always nice, as well.
I'm going to go out in the morning and take pics, count trees, etc. Which reminds me...I need to charge my camera battery after this past weekend!
"In the forest?"
"Take as loooooong as you need."
This is my 50th forum post, so I thought I'd share a funny story. Yesterday, when I called Lake Greenwood S.P., I asked the lady if it was OK for us to hang hammocks. I had already stated we are a hammock camping group. She asked, "So that will be your primary shelter??" I answered, "Yes, Ma'am, we are hammock campers. Is that OK?" She said with a little surprise in her voice, "Well, I don't see why not!!" It sounded as if she was thinking...well, if that is what floats your boat, but I think y'all are crazy. Haha!
