    VIDEO: Bathtub Lakes..

First off, this is set as a mermorial video for my father that passed in February.

Bathtub lakes are set high in the hills between Pinnacle lake and Mt Pilchuck. This is also known as the east summit. This hike is not for everyday hiker as it is considered a class 3 rock scramble. Trail finding and map reading are a must in my book.... ENJOY!

That looked like one tough hike. What were you relying on; maps, compass, GPS, or memory? There are no white blazes like on the AT!

After my mom died, I went into the Santa Catalina mountains north of Tucson for two or three days - I don't exactly remember how many days I was gone 'cause I just had to clear my head.

My wife was very upset. "Where you going?" she'd ask, and I'd answer, "Dunno."

    "When you coming back?"

    "Dunno."

I do know that those two or three days hiking alone in the Santa Catalinas was a very healing time. I was so angry my mother had the nerve to die on me, but a little time alone in the wilderness can really adjust one's perspective.

    Congratulations on completing your quest.

Your video captured the extreme beauty of the PNW.
And, the price you pay in the ruggedness of the hike.

Thanks for sharing your emotional response to a life event we share collectively.

Very nice place, tuff going, but nice, nice camp site too! Well done with the bug killing, it’s a better world now, with a few less bugs. Good tribute at the end, thanks for the video, nryche!
