    Oldman Winter Pole Mod

I wasn't sure if this post should go in the general hammock or DIY forums, so feel free to move it if it's not right.

Anyways, after seeing Flatline's pole mod for his Oldman Winter tarp, I got inspired. All I did was sew little "pockets" of 1 inch webbing and then sewed a strip of material at the ridge line to secure the pole in place. It REALLY opens it up inside and it makes for a stellar porch mode! Here are the results....

I have one done on a Big Daddy .. poles run over the top between the side pull-outs .. I really like what you you've done here with the OMW .. porch mode is awesome !! I think this a the route to go with the new wave of bridge's too !! Nicely done ..!!!

Thanks everyone, I think it's gonna work out great for me! I got the poles from quest outfitters. I used the .340 aluminum poles.

For the oldman winter tarp I used a total length of 114" (thanks to flatline for that info). To get that length I opted for three 26" sections and two 18" sections for each pole. Obviously if you want smaller sections you could go with all 18" sections and do some trimming.

That is the best idea I have seen in a while.
I'm going to try that too.
