well i'm looking at getting an underquilt, and i have a few questions.


which is better, synthetic or down?

do the full length UQs effect your diagonal lay?

if making an UQ out of an old sleeping bag, what is a good temp rating that the bag should be? and should it be rectangle or mummy?

Down packs /compresses smaller, synthetic can insulate as well but is bulky. Synthetic is easier to dry.

Nope, you just adjust them to fit under you.

Don't know about temp rating. Depends on where and when you're hanging. Rectangle .
