    Arizona hang?

Any of you Arizona members wan't to set up a group hang? I have already learned a lot here on the forum, but I would like to get out with other hangers and learn hands on. If anyone is interested in coordinating something let me know.

    Thanks,
    Steven

Hey there, always interested in getting away. Samuel JD and I are going again this weekend to the Pinchot Cabin area, part of the Cabin Loop. You can look on the Hike Arizona website to get a description.

Starting at General Springs trail# 141 headed north. If anyone wants to get out, guess there is a missing plane in the area. We'll keep our eyes open. They report that it had taken off from Mesa and was headed to Winslow. We will be in that flight path, hope all is welll.

Weather's great here in the Verde Valley and further north. I'm really interested in hanging with some more experienced members. Flexible schedule except for Sunday.

Ok Samuel JD(Trail Cheese), Whisper, Strap and I had a great time on the Cabin Loop Trail. Went Out Friday, Saturday, came off trail Sunday. Ready to go again, just let me know where and when.

Steven, I am brand new to hammock camping and would like to get out there with some other people. I don't have the gear yet for hiking so I'm mostly interested in just a 1 or 2-night car camping scenario, mostly to try out setting up and sleeping in the hammock. I'm hoping to one day combine hammock camping with my other passion of ATV riding but need to find the right group of folks for that. Anyway, my schedule's pretty hectic right now but I'll have a break the weekend of October 5th, if you are interested in setting up an overnight.

Nojope, that might work for me. I just found out my friend has some time off around then, so I might be spending some time with him. Car camping is really what I am interested in at this point as well. I would really like to go on a hang, but i really don't know enough about the camping areas to set one up. If we do an actual campground, I know of a few just north of Sedona that are neat. The bad part is they are right next to the road. Unfortunately the only trees in my area all have things that poke you.

AZ Hang - Upper Pumphouse Wash?

What do you think about this place: http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...d.php?p=587062

I joined the forum this year but saw this thread and bookmarked it as it looks like a great place. I have to come back Saturday evening, so we could do just Friday night or I can take Friday off work and we could go up Thursday night and camp 2 nights.

    Anyone else interested?

That looks like a real nice spot. I don't think I have the right gear to hike in though. I couldn't tell, how far is it from the parking area to the campsite?

The other thread said it's less than half a mile. But it also said there is a fire lane down to the site if one has a truck, which I do. We could drive up in one vehicle even, although my truck guzzles gas going up the hills to Flagstaff.
