    The Backpack Hammock

Saw this on the Hammock section of Reddit today: http://www.reddit.com/r/Hammocks/com...hammock_along/

Dude said he's made three of them, and it looks like a neat concept. Anybody here done something similar (or alternatively, is that dude here on the forum)? I'd kinda like to know how he did it.
I used to be a somebody, now I just camp.

It appears that it is just any old hammock and the backpack has a slot in the back panel for the hammock to slip into. I wonder if there are more pictures with the hammock packed away in it somehow or if the sleeve simply provides a place to thread the hammock through for pack storage while the hammock is set up. FWIW I think Dutch's bridgeskin is much more elegant-https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...ad.php?t=25412-although he has already stated he has no plans to make these available for sale to the masses as it was a big undertaking and very time and fund consuming.

IIRC Dutch made a bridge skin or something that was a bridge hammock and a backpack in one.
    Good luck,

The hammock stores in the area between your back and the pack, where the ventilation area is, I would think that the hammock would get wet with sweat if you are hiking. I do like the idea of it though, very ingenious.

I cannot see a reason for this Your hammock needs to stay Dry and most take up very little space in a pack.

The idea of stringing your whoopee through it seems interesting, but I always strap my pack to a tree or hang it under my tarp

That's a very good point, unless the user either doesn't sweat much, or the hammock is protected by a very thick layer of foam that would create a wet hammock come sleep time. Unless it is set up with ample time to dry(I.E. car camping, short distance hikes).
