I use a compactor bag and stuff the pack and boots in it under my hammock so I can grab stuff without getting up!

Similar to what other guys have mentioned already....
Just a soft shackle or carabiner through the packs handle, then onto my suspension rings.
Rain cover over the pack. Done.
Makes it a little bit harder for those pesky rodents, big & small to reach.
Mountain views are good for the soul....& getting to them is good for my waistline.

I usually tie to a tree on arrival at a hammocking site then put on a small offcut piece of tarp under the hammock. I also have a bergen cover should it be necessary.

I just knot my shoes together and throw them over the suspension line. They hang outside the hammock but under the rainfly.
For my pack, I have just put the cover on and carry a loop of paracord. Throw the cord around a tree and clip the pack to it. I like the idea of putting it under the fly on the suspension line better, I'm gong to try that next.
My Molly MacPack is my foot pad! So, yea, it goes on the ground and then my shoes and stuff go on top; if it is dewy in the morning I stand on it to get my dry shoes, socks etc on. Multiple use gear Baby!

I just set everything on the ground under me on a piece of plastic. stay dry and critters haven't gotten into it. yet.
I use to hang things from the trees, but gave that up due to sap and ants. I made a small hammock, about 3-4' long. I'll try that next time.

I attached two lines to the pack cover and can now use it as a gear hammock/catchall. Once set up my pack is empty and sits in the cover/gear hammock. Which is above my hammock in good weather and below in wet weather depending on how high i think my tarp should be.
Used to hang it on a tree but also disliked sap and bugs!
