Stole Calebs post from another forum:

Mudman was kind enough to show Rip and I one of his favorite spots. You hike into the valley pictured here


We hiked in at night and set up camp


Then it was time for a small fire. Mud hard at work on the prep


I brought a proven bow drill cedar on cedar set, next time it will be made out of gathered material, got a ember


with a combination of efforts...success

Rip proving that his makeshift hammock led to great nights sleep


I went for a morning walk up the creek




My first time cooking bannock, Rain showing us the stick method


I chose to try the rock pan method


Mud showing us his hammock rig, I'm was diggin the set up


Mud also was kind enough to give us a lesson on cordage

A little lunch consisting of ramen with sardines, it was actually delicious

Its a $30 fine around here if you don't pick up after your pooch...but the goose crap at the pond almost makes ya slip and bust your butt...

GREAT trip report and pics! LOVED seeing some HF'ers practicing some Bushcraft skills, too (Bow Drill Set, Two-strand Twist Cordage, Feathersticks).

Thanks! I really enjoy this place, and try to go as often as possible. I want to know the area inside and out. It's also been super cool having been there at 3 different seasons, and seeing the terrain change. This small beach area we used to love to check out, was completely dried out this last trip. We had been walking in the area thw whole time and had no clue.
