I want to send a thank you to all the vendors. You were very generous. I won a Hammock Bliss double at the raffle. I Got out in the back yard and took it for a test drive this morning. I am a bit over the recommended limit for this hammock but I spared it no mercy and it held up fine. Very very comfortable lie in this hammock. lots of room to stretch out and take an afternoon nap.

Thanks to all the folks over at Hammock Bliss!

I showed Sluggie's slideshow to my friend Melanie, who was interviewing me on Wednesday for Verve magazine's "Double Life" monthly feature. I guess like most people I know in Asheville and WNC, I lead a double life because I have a suburban home and job, but sneak out to the woods every chance I get.

It was charming to show those photos to someone else, and it made me appreciate all those I met at the hang, and all that I have learned from Hammock Forums! Thanks, y'all!

Check out Verve magazine's Oct (or maybe Nov) issue to see the interview. I'm gonna use my hammock for the "photo shoot" of my wild side

    Thumbs up Hot Springs Hang

Well, I have read and saw almost everyone's comments and agree it was the best hang that I've had the pleasure to attend. Unlike the Johns Rock Hang this time I failed miserably to contribute photos of the event to Running Feather to post. I drove up Thursday and got the firewood unloaded and added to the pile already set up near HB and RF. Lots of fun breaking in the new Dutch Oven that HB acquired, which turned out some tasty Chicken, Alfredo and ziti (I think it was) for Thursdays dinner. Friday brought most of the folks in to the hang, and some of us walked to and through the town to visit and spend money at the Outdoor Outfitter store, then on for dinner at the Smoky Mountain Diner. Another night by the fire was enjoyed by all. Saturday was fun and some went paddling, hiking and sight seeing. Granny Pat, Rockdawg69, Eric and I all went and hiked up Max Patch for the magnificent views. Later that evening for the hot dog supper I was lucky to have almost every bit of the chili eaten (nothing to haul back! I have posted just a few of my photos on Flickr if you want to see them, it's my first time posting anything, so don't expect too much! Go to "www.flickr.com/photos/lazybee 2012" to see. Looking forward to the next hang, thanks everyone for making this such a good time.
