    Hammock Line Broke On Me

Doing some hanging yesterday and had my first experience with a broken line
    PA260129.JPG
and sudden switch to being on the ground in my hammock.
Soooo ..... I am going to a bit of larger diameter line for this connection between hammock, caribiner and webbing.
    I hold no grudge!

    It is this http://www.rei.com/product/729594
Has a 800lb breaking strength. So far it has worked great but lesson learned on this one. I must say that I personally learn best by my own trial and error!
Naw, I was not hurt. I take a good fall. It is a gift..........
Any suggestions on what to use there would be appreciated....
BTW, looking ever so forward to the "Blackbird" Hammock. Dreamin' about it.

Lol, you'll have to teach the rest of us your technique!

Also glad to hear your landing wasn't too painful.

I had some amsteel break on me last weekend. I was very surprised as you can imagine. I had my peapod on and i tied it to the buckles. so when my line broke the peapod got ripped. Luckily the way they make the peapod is they sew a seperate piece for the channel. The stitching ripped out and I was able to completely repair it. It asl taught me 2 lessons. 1 done tie the peapod to the buckle. 2 Ed puts more work than needed into his PP.

I purchased some of that Amsteel blue 3 mm from the group buy, and I loved it so much I've bought another 61 ft. of blue and 96 ft. of gray. Why such odd lengths? Annapolis Performance sailing usually has odds and ends for at a very decent price, http://www.apsltd.com/Tree/d3000/e2238.asp.

Redden marine usually has a good price (http://www.reddenmarine.com/site/new-detail.cfm?id=AMRAMSTLBLU38. Go2Marine has quick shipping http://www.go2marine.com/product.do?no=38345F. But the best price is usually Annapolis Performance sailing or Redden. It's good stuff, and it's not going to snap on you like the stuff you were using.
