In the far corner weighing in at 1?? pounds and representing the Middle States of America-HappyCamper; in this corner weighing in a 180.4 pounds and representing the Confederated States, MedicineMan..... A challenge to gain a few ounces in weight! And taste something yummified!!
How you might ask? Not pistols but cones! Lightweight pots/mugs/pans/cut down Fosters--muffin tins if you like! Anything and whatever you'd actually carry in a backpack to produce a truly baked item.
Why? The same reason people always duel. Bragging rights and getting to say 'I've got the biggest muffin' (or simplest apple cuchen, or lightest peach cobbler).
When? 1pm Saturday at the Gathland OK Corral.
My weapon:
a Gredemeer Cone
a Gredemeer MSR Titan 0.85 Liter Mug
a flimsy piece of felt
a cut down Fosters as baking tin
My goal: a mouthwatering chocolate chip muffin.....
Let's see if HC is brave enough to show us her weapon of choice HA!
On the serious side, while you are filtering or treating water, putting up your hammock, dialing in your tarp, looking for a lost peg, sitting there wondering how you took the wrong turn at the trail junction, 15 ml's of alcohol could be working to boost your spirits or amaze the other hikers in the shelter.
They think you're either cool or crazy for sleeping in a hammock; so let's show those ground dwellers that hangers have mastered the art of ultra lightweight baking.
This really isn't just a duel between HappyCamper and myself but an opportunity to show/share teach each other tips and tricks on how to brighten up the camp meal AND do it in the lightest way possible.
So the challenge is for any who might be interested is to bring their wares (pistols excluded Mr. Hamilton/Burr) and show us how you do it!
Again 1pm at the pavillion. Let's teach each other.
p.s. we'll need a scale
