As of 1428 today, it's raining & foggy with a temp just above 52. OR, the same weather I had in Cinti on Sat / Sun.
The temp 0800 today in the Queen City was 28 & slightly cloudy. Usually, not always, the weather here is @ Mt Rogers in 2 to 4 days. It was 26 when I got to work Monday AM.

It will be cool at night, dry. Is what I'm seeing. Good for hiking. It's piling up to about 3"of rain in central Virginia .It will clear out Thursday .We need the rain badly.Going out for a stroll now. Test out some seam sealing.

I got word from ranger Marcia that there is a charge of $5.25/night per dog.
I've pretty much decided against taking my girls... not because of the fee but because it would be their first camping trip & they would be wearing their harness & leash for 3 days strait.
Besides, I don't think they are all that crazy about being out in the cold for very long at a time & it would quite a commitment for me to keep they safe & happy under the circumstances.
BTW... Marci said she's planning to drop by the group site for a visit Sat eve.
I too will something make and joy in it's making
Hey Slowhike, check out the latest weather report at weather.com for "Grayson Highlands State Park." Are you getting any local reports that are calling for snow? Latest shows 5-8 at GHSP. Couldn't believe what I was seeing, but it would be great! A pulk may be in order after all.

OK, I do have my reasons for posting this:
The hangout is THIS weekend, as in I'm leaving for the hangout in about 24 hours or so.
Come to Mt Rogers to find out the rest of the story.
