    Video Report: Cuyamaca Peak

My wife and I decided to go camping this weekend. So we loaded up the car and went up in the local San Diego mountains to enjoy some peaceful time in the wilderness. My wife doesn't have a hammock yet and is still happy with the tent. I slept very well in my Blackbird hammock. Every time I go camping I am more and more impressed with this method of sleeping. Temps got down to 45 degrees, but I was plenty warm with my 3 season Yeti and 15 degree down Marmot sleeping bag. I used one of those windshield reflectors down in the foot box and I didn't get any cold spots. We finished the weekend with a 7 mile hike up to Cuyamaca Peak (6512 ft) with about a 1500 elevation gain from the campground. Video of the trip below.

Thanks! I'm glad you liked the vids.

My wife seems to still like the tent because, she feels like it has more privacy. Even when I pitch the tarp all the way down to the ground with the doors closed (isn't the superfly great?) she still feels like she needs a floor. Oh well, to each his own.
