Do local hardware stores carry that brand? You recommend one brand over another or are they all basically the same. I can see many applications with hammocks.

No, in fact, Sierra Designs once branded the Min Grip Clips but I think that is gone as well. The only place I know to get them is from Shelter Systems. ALL others are crap! BUT, I haven't used the Dutch built tarp clips yet. Dutch's are prolly better for the light fabric tarps but I don't know how well they would work on thick material like this.

I got some small yellow tarp clips last month at a hardware store. I've had them on my ripstop tarp for a while. I found that wrapping the included line around it twice before sliding the outer collar on holds it much better. It also protects the fabric. Only down side is they aren't flat like the grip clips. Sierra design still has them on their web site.
