    Hammocks Spectators via YouTube

    The stuff Folks will watch.......

Amazing.......just realized that my YouTube Channel which is 90% hammock bits and bobs just reached 10,005 Subscribers)))))))
I am always amazed that people would watch backpacking and hammock videos. Must truly be a lack of entertainment on TV and such.

My intent has always been to just show the joy and fun of backpacking and not to necessarily try to convert others to the hammock life. If-so.....then so be it. But truly....getting folks to switch from tents to hammocks was never a goal. Backpacking with a hammock is just to much fun and makes me grin that I wanted to share that. Video was just a "lazy mans" Trip Report for me. Then the proverbial can-o-worms opened.

Many (in my opinion) will explore hammocks and go back to tents or tarps or campers. We hammockers are a little bit different. Many talk of speed of set-up. Well.....in a perfect situation that may be true. Many times it takes me longer as I search for the "perfect spot" back in the woods as opposed to the most convenient. Not a race for me. If a tenter is set-up prior to my find of "nightly nirvana" I sulk not.

Hammocks.....sorta like Unicycles. Many will try one or buy one but will find that there is a bit more to it and may find that daunting and discouraging.
Not sure if we will ever be the majority but we will be out there cradled in comfort and sitting up to put on our boots with a well rested body and a surge of energy for a fine days walk in the piney woods.

Cheers shug. I think your videos sometimes end up being hammock propaganda because you are always hanving so much fun. So when an interested in hanging person comes along and sees you having so much fun they too want to have so much fun!

Congrats on passing the 10000 mark!

You are a natural and entertaining example to many of us and you provide great information too. Im glad your videos are out there for folks to find when their curious fingers type hammock in google. Your humor, irreverence, and humility are what makes it all the better.
Lol- who would have thought a simple hammock could get so complicated?

    Congrats Shug,

Like so many here, your videos played a part in me becoming a hanger. I have always had a hammock in my camping kit, but never extended the use to a full night's sleep.

You have that special quality that so many teachers don't have ... being able to add humor to the lesson. Granted, camping and hammocking are more fun, but that is beside the point.

    Again, congrats on the milestone.

No truer words were ever spoken...er, typed. You are truly entertaining; so much TV programming sucks these days. And I bet I have watched that video of Aeriel's Hoops 20 times... She has skills man!

I do have one question though:
Have you ever thought of a hammock sling shot stunt, or maybe trebuchet? I would PAY to see that!

Congrats on the 10,000+ Subscribers Shug! Your fame is Well deserved!

Shug's videos are both fun to watch and entertaining. Hardly realized i was actually learning some very useful things until watching again as reruns.

Hmmm. Currently waiting for a rainy afternoon with popcorn and replays of all Shug's videos - now there's a plan!

Nicely done, Sir, and well deserved!

While the hammocks do tend to draw curiosity, we know the true explanation is that no one can resist Ginger Power!
You're gonna need a bigger hammock

If everyone finds out about this crazy idea, we may run out of trees. I'm not really worried, most people aren't as smart as we are.
