Hoosier Hangers: Deam Overnight Hike, 9/28-29

Hey everybody, I'm gonna get out this Friday for a mild-weather tune-up overnight in the Charles C. Deam Wilderness. Got a whole bunch of new gear I've been looking to try out. I'm thinking about making my way out to the Patton Cave campsites, but I'm open to other hikes in the area if anybody wants to join.

The wife and I may be in the Deem on saturday. I don't see the cave on the map I have can you give me an idea where it is located? Possibly a link?
We were planning to do axom branch to peninsula trail, but the cave sounds cool.

Writing from my phone, so I'll post a map tomorrow, but if you were to go on grubb ridge, past the peninsula trail (from your direction) you'd want to hike north along saddle creek. The cave will be on your right in the side of one of the knobs.

Thanks, that gives me a pretty good idea on location but map would be great. Only map I have of the area is crappy trail map, not sure why cave wouldn't be on it though.

Okay, so I made this map for a previous trip. The first time I went, I just found it without using a map, so I've recreated this from memory basically. If it's not that first campsite by the green X, then it's the second one.

I appreciate the help Zombee, I will definitely be checking out the cave. Looks like I will be going in solo on Saturday.
