Torturing the mentally disadvantaged. That is so cruel.

No problem. There's always NIGHT HIKING in the Pine Barrens! Looks like a full moon tomorrow night, or darned near.

Sprayed the bugnet, hiking shoes, pants and bugnet with Permethrin. After hours of scrutiny, I was able to lower my pack weight a few ounces. It's hard to let go of stuff you've carried for so long.

I'm ready to go but not looking forward to 13 miles per day. I saw Fronkey do 36 and FireInMyBones do 34 recently. I'm just trying to work my way up to 15 or 20 per day. While I'm sure training is important, I think a lot of achieving distance is just psychological. If I take FireInMyBones attitude, which is "Crawl your way to the finish line," then I'm probably gonna be okay.

I have a high pain tolerance, so I should be okay.

Not going be able to rally the brother in law, he looks too much like the real bigfoot and he's worried about poachers this time of year.

Still working on the nephew but family activities might kaibash the whole thing.

If we make it, like I said it will be lower forge or MRW and we'll hike over to Batona to say hello.

    Cheers

Running late - looks like I won't get to Batsto till 1:30 pm. I figure 5 hours to Batona at a leisurely pace. A bunch of Boy Scouts are staying at Batona tonight. I guess that's better than rednecks with fireworks and beer, or pineys burning pallets.
