    Mambajamba pole mod

This winter I obtained an OMW tarp with the outside pole mod. On a hiking trip my buddy noticed and really liked it. My question, does anyone make/sell or even have DIY instructions for doing a similar thing for his Mambajamba? He already has the side pulls, he just needs the attachment points and the poles.

I would like to get or do this for him as a birthday present.

    Thanks for any insight.

I bought the tarp pole mod kit from Wilderness Logics. I works great with the panel pulls on most any tarp.

That is the one I have on my Old Man Winter. Will the same exact set-up work on a Mambajamba?

Lots of folks use it with the Superfly so I don't see why it wouldn't work with the panel pulls on the Mamajamba as well. I had no problem with it working on my Ox Palace.

I have recently seen this, what is the purpose of the pole mod? I have a mamajamba tarp...

Poles span over top of tarp/ridge line from panel pull to panel pull. This dual attachment over center fulcrum pulls the sides do the tarp outward and upward for a roomier interior.

The exterior pole mod spreads out the tarp sides from the tie outs and opens up the interior of the tarp giving you more room inside when the tarp is closed down in storm or winter mode.

Ah I see now! Could shock cord loops and trekking poles accomplish the same goal?
