GT DBL DBL or go with DIY Tablecloth

So I've got a GT Dbl, love it.

Planning on stitching in some reinforcement on the extra flaps for an asym tie out setup.

Was thinking about finding another piece of fabric and turning it into a Dbl layer, wasn't even going to sew it, just whip both end together and keep it simple.

My concern, the GT is so doggone stretchy and comfortable, am I going to be able match the "parachute nylon" used? Don't want to hose the GT comfort factor.

Or should I leave well enough alone and just get 2 tablecloths to get started and then purchase some 1.7 or 1.9 ripstop for my own diy dbl layer which is probably in my future anyway?

If you get two tableclothes and make a double layer, you can leave your GT Dbl alone, and use it with an UQ later when you get one.

    Try the tablecloth

I would recommend trying the table cloth for a double layer. It will feel more firm than the grand trunk, but I think you will lose the "stretchy and comfortable" feeling you describe if you try to add a layer to the GT.

I like the firmness of the tablecloth fabrics over my nylon ones. It's nice to have different options though, and a tablecloth DL has a pretty low initial cost.
