Great job Home Run! Now we have to have some "pickers" for next years gathering. HINT! HINT! HINT! all you HF folks.

I'm thinking a HF band would be a good thing for the bandstand! We don't just hang - we do Stuff. At least some of us can. Unfortunately I'm only good at throwing rocks.

    Hey Gunner,

I've got the 2 mini-biners from the HammockForums sign and 3 of your tent stakes from the "converts" tarp location. Tried to catch you at the festival but could not find you.

PM me your address and I'll forward them to you.

Thanks for the great report. Nice pics also.

    Message Board/Tell All Board:

To all Grayson HF folks and anyone who may want to participate. Talked with my graphic design kid. He can do whatever we want for a poster board(s) for next years hang. Will put it on a thumb drive and we can have it printed when we need it.

Okay, so now we need the words and suggested drawings/pictures to tell the hammock camping story. Everyone take a wack at what you think are the most important things to say/show. More than one board can be made. Send them to me in a PM and I will collate and post one message so that all can vote on text and visuals.

The obvious visual should be a HammockForums Logo at top of the board(s)

Remember to use the KISS principle, but make it pertinent.

That had to take a while. Do you pick a musical instrument as well?
Can't hardly call me a picker, more of a plucker. I just mess around the chicken house. But I sure was having fun writing the words. Did it on my afternoon lunch break. People thought I was nuts; laughing out loud for no apparent reason!

My good friend and newbie hanger, Guitar Man (Tim might remember me talking about him) is an excellent picker. Lead, rhythm, bass, vocals...plays in the church band now, but did the local haunts for years. He couldn't come to the hang, last minute thing. I sure don't want to speak for him, but after he heard of all the fun at the hang and the festival, my guess is it'll take more than wild ponies to keep him out next year.

Rockdawg, you do the jug and I'll hit the washboard!

Thanks all for the kind words. You all were my inspiration.

Great! I saw it last year & it was obvious again this year... we need a few nice posters giving the basics in bold print.
Start with the very basic out front in BOLD PRINT... something like "Demonstrating a comfortable, practical alternative to tent camping."
A few posters after that telling the basics that are often not recognized would be helpful (like comfort, warmth, dryness, & convenience of sitting at chair height) would be helpful, but start by letting people know that we are not there to sell something, but to show another (better) alternative.

    Just some starting thoughts.
I too will something make and joy in it's making
