For no reason other than to brag, I just finished my first DIY sewing project (a small ditty bag) on the sewing machine without breaking a needle. I'm pretty awesome at this now.

LOL It's fun, huh?
Did you see my UQ? Not a straight stich on it! LOL

I did, and the first thought I had was "He's just as talented as I am!"
Eventually, I think I wanna invest in a rotary cutter and a mat...and a yard stick. I didn't measure a thing on this.

Aren't you supposed to be studying?

Hey Gresh -- CONGRATS, MAN!
Ha ha, I'm laughin with you, cause I went through two needles before I realized I was putting them in backwards. Who knew they had a front and a back ?!?

"But hey, 2 trees anywhere is a bedroom waiting to happen, right?"
Hah, Mine were going in the right way, but my bobbin kept jamming up on me. I went through six needles before I figured out today to turn the bloody thing around.
So far, so good. I'm hesitant to call it a success yet.

Man! what a wonderful way to wreck a great story!
Worst class I ever took was a humor theory class... never been so bored in all my life. Dissecting what makes something funny is very much like dissecting a frog--you learn what it's made of and what makes it tick, but you've kind of lost something beautiful in the process. Alas! Poor Flannery O'Connor. I knew her Horatio.
Congrats on your addition without attrition! It's guaranteed that every time a break a needle there won't be a replacement anywhere in our house. I'm making my oldest daughter a gathered end hammock and, by gadfrey, I am determined not to even begin the project until I receive visual confirmation that we have 6 or 7 replacement needles (which, of course, means I won't break any--well worth the trouble).
Keep up the good work (sewing and schooling)
You're gonna need a bigger hammock
Did you ever wonder why they offer needles in packs of 100? I am probably on my 20th pack of 100 by now.
