Cold Back Syndrome / Thingies or Hooks?

Using my New River standard on a particularly windy night I was getting some cold air down my back now and then. I was just at the wrong orientation and didn't have my winter tarp with me so couldn't close off the end.

So now this has me thinking about triangle thingies and quilt hooks. I could whip up some triangles pretty quick but they seem fiddly to me.

My other thought was just to add another piece of shock cord to the corner loops and bring it right over top of the ridge line, making a sort of triangle in the process.

    What do you all think?

I tried the triangle thingies and last February at a hang at about 13f in the middle of the night a snap on one broke. I just ordered Dutch's quilt hooks and I think that's the answer!!

dutch over the ridge clip for me, I just prussiced a piece of shock corded to one side so i can move it along the suspension and the other side just slips right on top of it..so i can move it up or down the suspension as i feel i need to.. and it stays with the underquilt so no matter which hammock i am using it works!

the triangle thingies were too fiddly. I could never get them right.

I got the Dutch hooks. They worked the best for a snug fit.

i have the jarbridge, haven't had the chance to get out and use it with any wind, but it seems like there are various ways to adjust the quilts, depending on how you suspend it. since it's a full length, do you gather the ends all the way tight or do you extend beyond the ends of the quilt? i wonder if there's a way to rig the quilt without the thingies? just clip the biner directly to the ridgeline, within the fixed and adjustable loop?

Cool. So you're not sewing them onto your hammock though, 'cuz I don't wanna do that... I'd rather it stayed with the quilt.

Just using one on the suspension and bringing it over the rl to grab the other side? The al ones?

Sounds to me what you describe would mean passing the hammock through the suspension of the quilt. Don't much like that idea.

    Or am I misunderstanding you?

    I sewed mine right on.
I tacked them on a seam with some overlapping material.
Have never had a problem whatsoever
oh, I used waxed thread as well.

I think I'd rather sew them to the quilt and clip them to the hammock. Did you try that option?

He has that other hook for that option...

No, I'd probably alter the included quilt attachment to be two separate shock cords, or have a way to detach it on one side. I was just spit balling, I haven't thought this through very much. But I'm in the same boat as you, I don't want a cold butt!
